Mare Management (Equine Midwife) & Breeding
Customized mare care and foaling. Safety and comfort are at the forefront of our mare program. We happily welcome your expectant mom-to-be and offer individualized care as your mare approaches her foaling day. Our nutritional program consists of ProElite Growth, ProElite Ration Balancer, Alfalfa, and grass hay as well as free choice mineral access.
The health, wellbeing, and balanced nutritional needs of each mare is of utmost importance to us at Oak Branch. Mares are supervised 24/7 as they near delivery via video monitoring. We work closely with exceptional reproductive veterinarians to ensure that your valued mare and foal are well cared for. Contact us for details, current pricing, and space availability. Book your mare’s stay early in the year as we fill our foaling slots quickly. Once your mare has her foal, they typically stay outside with other mares and foals day and night, after being gradually introduced to the mare/foal herd, but we pride ourselves on the daily handling of foals. Stall accommodations can be provided per owner request.
Oak Branch Farm proudly offers several warmblood foals for sale each year, purpose bred with tendencies toward amateur friendly brains and high quality sport. Ask us about our graduates and what they are doing now…we LOVE to show off our grown up babies and their happy people!
Training Services
Oak Branch Farm offers lesson and training opportunities through Geven Eventing (Marjolein and Werner Geven). Lessons and/or training rides are available twice weekly at Oak Branch as well as coaching at shows and events per their schedule.
We specialize in young horses! Pastures dedicated to weanlings, yearlings, and young stock 2-4 years old are fenced in no-climb foal fencing and basic welfare skills are regularly visited (haltering, leading, standing for the farrier, etc).
